HGBC was started as a result of the burden of Rev. John B. Mott, Sr. After being saved at the age
of 19, he received his call to preach the Word of God and went to bible college shortly after.
Upon graduation, Pastor Mott planted a church in Pennsylvania and assisted ministries in
Florida and North Carolina as Assistant Pastor. Now going on his 9th year as Pastor of HGBC
has continued winning souls to Christ and teaching Saints the Word of God!
HGBC is a family oriented, diverse community of believers. Our goal is to live victoriously in
Christ and to teach others to do the same. Iredell County is a very peculiar place for ministry but
it's right where God called HGBC to minister.
We currently meet at 117 McElwee Street in Statesville, NC where we have been for several
years now. Our church exemplifies the love of God amongst one another and we pray for one
another regularly. As a small body of believers, we know that even in these last days that there
is a harvest, however the laborers are few. But that has never stopped God from getting the job
done.

exercise their gifts & talents for the edification of the body of Christ.

church, remembering that the Gospel is the Power Of God and determining not to minister in
wisdom of words so that your faith may not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God!
